Solace Oil
Barrier-first vitamin C
The retinol and vitamin C your sensitive skin was never supposed to have.
Solace delivers the brightening and antioxidant protection of a high-performance actives routine without the barrier disruption that makes sensitive skin worse. Barrier integrity first. Actives second. In that order, for a reason.
Ingredients with jobs.
THD Ascorbate 5% — Oil-soluble vitamin C ester that penetrates the lipid barrier without oxidative instability, delivering antioxidant protection and tone correction. Pillar IV.
Bakuchiol 0.7% — Plant-derived retinol alternative that stimulates collagen synthesis without the barrier disruption or sensitivity associated with retinoids. Pillar I.
Phytosphingosine — Ceramide precursor that integrates into the lipid matrix and restores barrier function while reducing surface microbial load. Pillar I.
Astaxanthin — Carotenoid antioxidant with singlet oxygen quenching capacity significantly higher than vitamin E, protecting against oxidative damage from UV and pollution. Pillar IV.
Brighter, more even tone. Smoother texture, firmer feel.
AM or PM. No sting.
Layers cleanly under SPF. Does not pill.
Actives that reinforce the barrier rather than compromise it.
The ritual.
Rest is the active.
Press 3 to 4 drops between palms. Apply to face and neck using light pressing motions. Layer under SPF. Do not rub or drag.
What the literature shows.
THD Ascorbate — Oil-soluble vitamin C ester demonstrated superior skin penetration and equivalent antioxidant efficacy to L-ascorbic acid with significantly improved tolerability in sensitive skin. Yamamoto I et al., 1998, Journal of Nutritional Science and Vitaminology.
Bakuchiol — At 0.5% twice daily produced equivalent improvement in fine lines and pigmentation to retinol 0.5% with significantly lower incidence of scaling and stinging. Dhaliwal S et al., 2019, British Journal of Dermatology.
Astaxanthin — Demonstrated singlet oxygen quenching activity significantly greater than vitamin C and reduction in UV-induced skin deterioration in human subjects. Tominaga K et al., 2012, Acta Biochimica Polonica.
